Misleading text messages telling Democratic voters to vote on November 5th rather than November 4th for ANY REASON, including because of “high turnout at the polls,” are false. Election Day is November 4th for everybody.
These text messages are part of voter suppression efforts to keep Obama voters from the polls. The truth is, November 4th is the absolute last possible day to vote and have your vote count.
YOU CAN HELP RIGHT NOW. Make sure your friends and family know the truth about voting. Spread the word that we’re counting on them to be at the polls on today. Polls close soon, so make sure you get to the correct polling place as soon as possible.
And whatever you do — don’t forward any false text messages. Spread the truth instead and make sure your friends know today is the last chance to make a difference in this election.
